It’s the day Hawks fans have been waiting for, as Atlanta takes on the Dallas Mavericks in the newly-named – and newly-redesigned – State Farm Arena.

The arena’s transformation began back in June of 2017, in a $192.5 million dollar project to turn the former Philips Arena into a venue for the new age.  Front and center in the State Farm Arena is the new 360-degree video board, a first-of-its-kind for the NBA which measures nearly 30 feet high and stretches more than 160 feet around.  The redesign also features a host of new shopping and dining options, including the high-end Chefs Club, with a menu created by new Executive Chef Joe Schafer, formerly of top Atlanta restaurant Bacchanalia.  Restaurant partners include Grammy-winner Zac Brown, who brings some southern cuisine to the Arena with Zac Brown’s Social Club, and fellow Grammy-winner Kandi Burruss, whose Old Lady Gang serves up award-winning family recipes.

Good Day Atlanta’s Paul Milliken got one of the first tours of the new State Farm Arena, and spent the morning there showing off some of the new features fans will encounter when they arrive to cheer on the Hawks tonight!
