Harlem Globetrotters celebrate 90 years with four area games
ROSWELL, Ga. - It's a big year for America's favorite basketball team! The Harlem Globetrotters celebrate nine decades of thrilling tricks and hilarious antics this year, and they're throwing themselves a total of four "birthday parties" right here in Atlanta!
Mark your calendars for the four upcoming local games -- Saturday, March 5 at Duluth's Infinite Energy Arena (games at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.) and Saturday, March 12 (1 p.m.) and Sunday, March 13 (1 p.m.) at Atlanta's Philips Arena. As part of the big anniversary, the team will wear white "throwback" jerseys for the first half of every game, and will also dedicate this year to legends Meadowlark Lemon and Marques Haynes, both of whom passed away in 2015.
Good Day Atlanta's Paul Milliken spent the morning hanging out with Globetrotters Buckets Blakes and Moose Weekes at Centennial High School in Roswell, trying to learn a few of their skills for himself!
