Festival of Trees brightens downtown Atlanta for 3rd year
ATLANTA - It’s an event that raised more than $23,000 last year, making the holidays much brighter for 20 local non-profit agencies. And this year, organizers behind the Embassy Suites Atlanta Centennial Olympic Park’s Third Annual Festival of Trees are hoping to spread the holiday cheer even further.
The hotel’s Festival of Trees kicked off November 20 and continues through January 1st, filling the atrium of the Embassy Suites Atlanta Centennial Olympic Park with 30 trees, each decorated by a local non-profit agency. The display is free and open to the public, and visitors are encouraged to “vote” for his or her favorite tree by making a monetary donation toward its decorating organization. The charities get to keep that money, plus the tree with the most “votes” will receive an additional $1,000 gift from Ruth’s Chris Steak House. More information on the Festival of Trees and the participating charities can be found on the event’s Facebook page.
