Cast members talk 'Proven Innocent' in Atlanta

Who killed Rosemary Lynch?  It’s a question that will haunt viewers of the new FOX show “Proven Innocent” – and, unfortunately, cast members are taking their vow of secrecy very seriously.

“Proven Innocent” is a new hour-long legal drama premiering on FOX tonight, and features a powerhouse cast of award-winning film and stage actors.  The show flips the script on typical courtroom dramas, centering on those wrongfully convicted and imprisoned by the justice system.  Rachelle Lefevre stars as Madeline Scott, an attorney once wrongfully convicted herself, who now fights for those going through similar battles.  Emmy Award-winning actor Kelsey Grammer plays her adversary, the lawyer who initially put Madeline away, and Russell Hornsby plays the attorney who freed her and is now her law partner.  Of the show’s unique focus, Hornsby tells FOX 5 Atlanta, "The justice system in America...it's broken.  We're not going to fix it overnight, but I think what we're looking to do is just shed some light in those dark places, and all those cracks and crevices."

Along with following current cases, “Proven Innocent” also features flashbacks, showing viewers the dramatic and frustrating story of Madeline’s wrongful conviction in the murder trial of her friend, Rosemary Lynch.  Madeline and her brother are finally freed after spending 10 years in prison for a crime they didn’t commit, but the case remains unsolved, which means Rosemary’s killer was never apprehended.  So…who did it?  We caught up several cast members at the recent 2019 SCAD aTVfest in Atlanta, and here’s the best we could get from Mr. Hornsby:  "We will find out.  At the season finale.  You gotta watch the whole season of 'Proven Innocent' – one through 13!"
