SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Bruce Bogartz is a food artist.
Peruse the menu at the newly opened Bogartz Food Artz in Sandy Springs, where you’ll see everything from Corn and Crawfish Fondue to Green Eggs and Ham to The Famous Duck Club to The MOAB (The Mother of all Bologna Sandwiches, Stuffed Tater Tots to the Carpet Bagger Filet, and you start to get the idea.
While these sound delicious and quite tempting, it’s no secret that #BurgersWithBuck appreciates the fine art of putting together a mouthwatering burger. Let’s just say mission accomplished, Chef Bogartz.
The Bruce Burger (If you’re going to name it after yourself, it better be good, right?) begins with a quality pattie with a touch of their dry rub, that is a blend of brisket, short rib, and ground chuck. Now here is where the artist and chef cross paths . . . it is topped with sherry’d onions, duck bacon, homemade bread and butter pickles (made from zucchini, not cucumber), cheese, and served with a side of Bruce’s house-made red eye steak gravy.
Sounds delicious, right? It is, but there’s more. Because it is his signature, namesake burger, it is served with a side of loaded tater tots. Yes, you read that right. Normally, we don’t talk a whole lot about the sides as we are burger purists, but these are so unique, they deserve a mention. First of all, they are made from real potatoes and are loaded with cheddar cheese, shredded Benton’s ham hocks, fresh corn, and green onions.
