Charlie Kirk murder: Judge rules key hearing will be public
A Utah judge has denied a defense request to close a critical upcoming hearing for the man accused of assassinating political activist Charlie Kirk. Reporters and members of the public will be allowed to attend the preliminary hearing for 23-year-old Tyler Robinson after Judge Tony Graf ruled Monday that the proceedings must remain open. The defense team had filed a motion to restrict public access to portions of the hearing, which is scheduled to run from July 6 to July 10. The block of hearings will serve as the most significant presentation of evidence to date in a high-profile case that has drawn immense public attention across the country.
