One dead after house fire in Jackson County neighborhood

Jackson County authorities are investigating a fatal house fire in the Traditions of Braselton neighborhood. Officials confirmed one person was found dead inside the home from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The GBI bomb squad was called to the scene to clear the residence of potential explosives, discovering three smoke grenades in a vehicle. The victim was identified as a military veteran.
