White County power outages worsen as ice storm hits
In White County, roughly one in three residents is without power as icy conditions continue to impact the area. We spoke with Deputy Director Don Strength, Emergency Management Division chief, who says no injuries have been reported so far. Firefighters and police have responded to calls involving downed trees hitting power lines, some sparking fires. Major roads remain mostly passable, but many secondary roads are impassable. Officials say crews are actively working and urge residents to stay in place and stay off the roads.
