Barrow County schools lift hold after threat calls
Barrow County schools were placed on a district-wide “hold and secure” Wednesday morning after a series of threatening phone calls prompted heightened concern. The school system says all students and staff were safe, with the sheriff’s office sending extra deputies to every campus. Parents were asked not to come to schools to avoid disrupting safety efforts. The alert was lifted just before 11 a.m. on 01/21/26.
