The city of Atlanta is coming together today, Sunday, March 15, 2026, to celebrate a milestone a century in the making: the 100th birthday of the late Rev. Dr. Ralph David Abernathy, Sr. Atlanta City Councilmembers, the Abernathy family, and the West End community are gathering at the historic West Hunter Street Baptist Church to honor the man known as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s "civil rights twin" and the strategic backbone of the movement.
