Mt. Vernon Hwy. overpass closed until further notice

A traffic nightmare is unfolding on one of the busiest roadways in metro Atlanta after a tractor trailer carrying heavy equipment hit a bridge on Interstate 285. This was the scene earlier Wednesday at the Mount Vernon Highway overpass in Sandy Springs. The accident shut down several lanes on the interstate for hours and backed up traffic for miles.
