I-Team: Former investigators accused Gwinnett County medical examiner of not paying overtime, lawsuit says
By Randy Travis Published April 12, 2022 LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Seven former investigators have sued the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner in federal court, accusing her of knowingly ignoring federal law and making them work long hours for free. The allegations first surfaced in a FOX 5 I-Team investigation last year into Dr. Carol Terry and Forensic Pathology Services, the private company hired by Gwinnett County to handle all death investigations. Gwinnett is the only metro county that outsources death investigations. Forensic Pathology Services is paid around $1.5 million each year.
