ATHENS, Ga. - A man shot himself after shooting a woman inside an Athens-area dentist office in what police are calling a "domestic incident."
What we know:
Officers said 74-year-old Carl Clark shot a woman inside McRae Family Dentistry on Baxter Avenue. Clark then left the office before police arrived.
He was later located in Butts County, where authorities attempted a traffic stop to arrest him. During the stop, officials said Clark shot himself.
He was taken to a hospital and is stable, according to police. His exact condition is unknown.
Clark was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, and criminal attempt to commit murder.
