ATLANTA - Colder air will settle in over north Georgia for the weekend, bringing temperatures down into the 30s in many areas Friday night and again Saturday night.
A Freeze Watch is posted for areas near and north of the Rome-Cartersville-Dawsonville line from 1 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday. A Freeze Warning is in place for Rabun and Habersham counties during that time. These are areas that will experience temperatures as low as 27-33 degrees. If you need to cover or bring in sensitive plants, make sure you do so!
Patchy frost will be possible in the metro area both weekend mornings. At this time, a Frost Advisory has not been posted for early Saturday for the metro area only because there may be enough of a breeze to keep areas of frost to a minimum. Lighter winds would lead to more widespread frost.
Temperatures will bottom out in the 34-39 degree range for the metro area early Saturday and Sunday mornings.
