Tyrone Brooks ordered to report to federal prison
ATLANTA - A former longtime Georgia lawmaker and Civil Rights activist has been ordered to report to prison in a few weeks.
Tyrone Brooks pleaded guilty and no-contest to several charges last year. He resigned from his state house seat last spring. Prosecutors say he stole money for personal use that he collected for charities he controlled.
Brooks will serve a year behind bars. He's ordered to report to federal prison on February 16.
