SOUTH FULTON, Ga. - A train hit and killed a person walking on the tracks in Union City early Thursday morning, sparking an investigation by local law enforcement.

A CSX train collided with a person on the tracks near Feldwood Road and Stacks Road in Union City, a CSX spokesperson.
The collision happened at approximately 2:46 a.m. Thursday, according to official details released by the rail company.
Fulton County first responders rushed to the scene following the collision.
Emergency crews reported that the individual suffered fatal injuries from the impact.
None of the crew members aboard the train were injured in the accident.
