Metro Atlanta businesses close for 'Day Without Immigrants' protest

Several metro Atlanta restaurants closed Monday in support of the Hispanic community for a "Day Without Immigrants."

What they're saying:

"We just wanted to support our immigrant community. Being a daughter of immigrants is very important to us," Debra Flores Sanches, owner of Lawrenceville's El Indio Restaurant & Taqueria, explained.

"We just want this opportunity for other hardworking immigrants to come to this country and, you know, do the right thing," she added. "Just to let them know that, you know, we have their backs."

She says many people are scared following the recent ICE arrests across the country, and she wanted to make sure the Hispanic community felt supported.

"We have never seen our community is scared to go out and eat, to go out and work," she said.
