Man charged with murder in Conyers after woman found dead in home

A man has been charged with murder after a 44-year-old woman was found dead at a residence in the 1600 block of Winchester Way, according to Conyers Police Department.

Police say they responded to a person shot call in the 1600 block of Winchester Way at approximately 12:40 a.m. June 8. Upon arrival, they found Kallie Bankston who had been shot to death.

They also discovered a man, identified as 53-year-old Randell Bankston, who had been shot.

The preliminary investigation determined that the man and woman were in involved in a "domestic altercastion" just befor ethe shooting. The man allegedly shot the woman and then shot himself.

Bankston was transported to a metro Atlanta hospital and is reportedly stable, although his exact condition is unknown.

He has been charged with murder and once he is released, he will be transported to Rockdale County Jail.
