GDOT works to patch hole along I-285
The Georgia Department of Transportation said emergency road repair along Interstate 285 will be complete by the morning commute, but the bridge will need renovations in the near future.
FULTON COUNTY, Ga. - Police have closed some northbound lanes of Interstate 285 past Langford Parkway in Fulton County.
According to Georgia Department of Transportation, district maintenance and bridge engineer are evaluating a localized hole in the bridge deck.
Two lanes of I-285 north are expected to remain closed at least into the evening for repairs, officials said.
Southbound and other northbound lanes are expected to remain open.
GDOT advises all motorists traveling northbound to use alternate routes to avoid extreme delays.
The hole was about six-feet long and 2 feet wide. It has since been filled and should be reopened by the morning commute.
