Armed robbery suspect caught at Lithonia apartment complex

A coordinated raid involving federal and local authorities ended with the arrest of an armed robbery suspect in Lithonia on Thursday.

What we know:

Dakin Adam Braddick is charged with one count of felony armed robbery, one count of first-degree hijacking of a motor vehicle, and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. Additionally, he faces two felony counts of financial transaction card fraud.

He was arrested at an apartment complex in the 6800 block of Main Street by law enforcement officers with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators believe Braddick was involved in the March 3 armed robbery of a person selling designer clothing and footwear on Glenwood Road in Decatur.

Officials have not released information regarding whether the stolen designer items were recovered. 

The specific evidence leading to the financial transaction card fraud charges also remains undisclosed as the investigation continues.
