GBI investigates shooting on I-20 involving Capitol Police
ATLANTA - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into an officer-involved shooting on Interstate 20 early Wednesday morning.
The incident started when a man drove away from a crash on Boulevard and Interstate 20, according to police.
Georgia State Patrol troopers and Capitol Police officers told the driver to stop, but law enforcement officers said he drove towards a Capitol Police officer. That officer was forced to open fire.
That driver ran off and has not been found.
The GBI does not believe the suspect was wounded.
