Children Witness Murder-Suicide

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - A terrifying ordeal for three Gwinnett County children who were home when their mother shot their father, then committed suicide. The children, ages 8, 14, and 16, told police their parents got into a physical altercation, and then things took a horrifying turn.

Gwinnett County investigators told FOX 5 Atlanta, 43-year-old Paula Gonzalez shot and killed her husband, 51-year-old Lucio Jimenez, then turned the gun on herself. It happened on Laurelton Circle in Lawrenceville early Friday morning.

A stray bullet grazed the woman’s daughter during the gunfire, but she is expected to be okay. All three children are staying with family members. DFACS is also involved in the investigation.
