CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. - Firefighters responded to their third structure fire in 24 hours early Monday morning, according to Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services.
What we know:
Cherokee E-911 began receiving calls shortly before 1 a.m. reporting a house on fire on Bells Ferry Road. Firefighters arrived within minutes and found the home fully engulfed in flames.
The homeowner was able to escape without injury and told firefighters no other people were inside.
One dog, however, was unable to escape the burning home and died, fire officials said.

Shortly before 9 a.m., FOX 5 Atlanta was informed that an arson suspect had been arrested in connection to the Bells Ferry Road fire. He was identified as Jackie Ingram and is facing a first degree arson charge.

Cherokee County officials did not provide information on Ingram's possible connection to the home and/or motive.
