North Oconee HS evacuated after bomb threat

North Oconee High School was evacuated following an emailed anonymous bomb threat. All students and staff are safe, and law enforcement is investigating.

The Oconee County Sheriff's Office was called in to investigate a reported threat to North Oconee High School late Friday morning.

What we know:

The sheriff's office says a bomb threat was emailed to the school anonymously on Friday.

The high school was evacuated out of an abundance of caution.

All staff and students are safe, and parents are being asked not to come to the campus at this time.

Students will be released once an all-clear is given by the sheriff's office.

Rocky Branch Elementary School was also placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure.

There was no direct threat made to the elementary school.
