Decatur Police have made an arrested in a brutal murder earlier this week at an apartment.

Devon Jackson, 20, was arrested after Decatur Police said he confessed to killing 31-year-old Keonta Rapheal Metts. Metts’ body was found inside an apartment located 400 block of West Trinity Place after police were called out for a welfare check Wednesday afternoon. Police said Thursday that there was no sign of forced entry.

The Medical Examiner said Metts suffered multiple stab wounds and signs of blunt force trauma.

Police released photos of a man who was seen with Metts on Tuesday evening, who they later identified as Jackson.

Loved ones said Metts was well-known and liked in his hometown of Decatur.
