Escaped inmate still on the run
Escaped inmate Timothy Shane fled a hospital and stole at least two vehicles so far. He is considered armed and dangerous and was last seen heading toward Henry County.
ROCKDALE COUNTY, Ga. - An escaped Rockdale County inmate is believed to be in Henry County, according to sheriff’s officials.

The backstory:
The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office says Timothy Shane, 52, was transported to a hospital around 8 p.m. Sunday by National EMS and sheriff’s deputies. Around 1:20 a.m. Monday, Shane escaped custody and fled the hospital on foot.

Search for escaped Paulding County inamte
Authorities from Rockdale County are searching for an inmate who escaped from Grady Memorial Hospital early Monday morning after being taken there for a medical evaluation following a suicide attempt.
Investigators say he then stole an SUV parked nearby. After crashing that vehicle, Shane fled on foot again. The SUV’s owner also reported that a Glock handgun was stolen from the car.

What we know:
On Monday night, the sheriff’s office posted on Facebook that surveillance video showed Shane driving away from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium area in a silver Pontiac Grand Prix with Georgia tag RWN9945.
The vehicle was spotted in Rockdale County, according to police, before being found in a Publix parking lot in Henry County. According to the sheriff's office, Shane requested an Uber to a home in south Rockdale County. RCSO obtained a search warrant for the home, but Shane was not located.
Officials believe Shane is now wearing a red hoodie and blue pants. He also has shoes. He is described as a white male, 5-foot-9, with a buzz-style haircut. The sheriff’s office says he has a history of fleeing and prior felony drug and weapons charges and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Grady Memorial Hospital issued the following statement:
"The existing policy for inmates under treatment at the hospital is that the custodial law enforcement agency must have one-to-one oversight of them at all times."
The hospital referred FOX 5 Atlanta to the sheriff's office for additional information.
Original arrest
What we know:
Shane was originally arrested by the Conyers Police Department on Nov. 23 after a chase.
He was charged with felony fleeing and attempting to elude a police officer for a felony offense; possession of methamphetamine; possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony; reckless driving; driving without insurance; and more.
