Authorities in Douglas County raided nearly 20 mall locations Wednesday after an undercover operation revealed shops were selling counterfeit goods.

What we know:

Douglasville police officers and Douglas County deputies executed search warrants on 16 stores and kiosks within Arbor Place Mall.

During the sweep, investigators recovered large quantities of counterfeit jewelry, clothing, sunglasses, and cell phone accessories.

The department noted these items were unauthorized reproductions and forged goods.

What we don't know:

Law enforcement has not yet announced specific charges for the owners accused of selling the fake products.

It is currently unclear if any arrests were made during the execution of the warrants or if the mall will take action against the involved tenants.

What they're saying:

"This type of criminal activity has become commonplace in cities across the United States, and in an effort to protect our citizens and anyone else shopping in Douglasville, we decided this disruption to our mall was worth the time and effort," the Douglasville Police Department said in a statement on social media.
