2 victims shot in leg shortly after arriving at Creste Drive apartments

The DeKalb County Police Department is investigating after two young men were shot at an apartment complex, according to officials.

What we know:

The shooting happened just before 4 p.m. in the 600 block of Creste Drive. When officers arrived, they found two "young males" who had been shot.

Police said the victims were taken to a hospital, and their injuries were described as "moderate." Both are expected to survive.

Dig deeper:

Police spoke with witnesses, including a young woman who drove the men to the complex. Investigators say the victims had no connection to the apartment complex and had just stepped out of their vehicle when two people exited another car already parked at the complex. The two suspects began shooting, striking both victims in the leg.

What we don't know:

Police are not currently releasing any information regarding the shooters' vehicle.

It remains unclear if the victims were targeted or if the shooting was accidental. Police have not yet determined why the men were at the complex.
