ATLANTA - A line of severe storms rolled through metro Atlanta Wednesday morning, leaving behind a trail of damage in several parts of north Georgia.
Tornado Warnings were issued Wednesday morning as the storms began to push through the state. That included southwestern Paulding, northern Carroll, and central Haralson Counties before 8 a.m. Then, Meriweather, Heard, Troup, and Coweta Counties in the 9 a.m. hour. All warnings have since expired, but heavy rainfall continues.
Damage has been reported in a number of spots in the Bremen area after trees toppled onto homes and streets. Bremen fire officials said no one was hurt.

We are also receiving reports of localized road flooding in the metro Atlanta area.

This line of strong storms and heavy rain continues to exit out of our area. As it passes, winds will shift to the northwest and temperatures will start to cool a bit before the end of the day.
Another big story from this storm system has been the torrential rain. Rainfall totals are exceeding 1" in many spots, with some pockets of even higher amounts over 2". While this can lead to localized flooding or ponding of water on roadways, there is not a widespread flood risk.
With lots more rain expected this weekend (an additional 2"-3" possible), flooding may become more of a concern in the long term.
