Atlanta Public Safety Training Center marks first anniversary

The Atlanta Public Safety Training Center, the 85-acre facility that became a focal point of national debate and years of protest, has officially marked its one-year anniversary. Since opening its doors on April 29, 2025, the center has transitioned from a site of intense conflict to an active hub for Georgia's first responders. The $115 million campus, located in the South River Forest of DeKalb County, was designed to modernize training for the Atlanta Police Department and Atlanta Fire Rescue, replacing outdated facilities that officials said hindered recruitment and retention.
