Atlanta airport ground stop extended due to storms and heat

The Independence Day holiday weekend has been interrupted with intense heat and storms around the metro Atlanta area. A ground stop is in effect until 4 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2026 at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport due to proximity of heavy lightening strikes.
