Scammers are using Fourth of July patriotism to target shoppers and veterans. Consumer advocates say fake America 250 merchandise, phony online stores and fraudulent messages about veterans benefits are circulating during the busy holiday weekend. Experts warn shoppers to use trusted retailers, check reviews and never share passwords, login information or payment details through unsolicited calls, texts or messages.
