New GDOT response unit launches to clear Georgia 400

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is launching a new, dedicated Incident Response Unit (IRU) this week to tackle congestion on Georgia 400. Operating 24/7 along a 16-mile corridor between North Springs and Forsyth County, the unit is a public-private partnership with SR 400 Peach Partners. As construction on the new express lanes ramps up toward a 2031 completion date, this team will use advanced tools like the "Lane Blade" to support HERO units and keep traffic moving.
