2015 cold case homicide of Alzuavion Martin reopened

Police in Coweta County are turning to the public for help as they renew their push to solve a heartbreaking cold case homicide that has lingered for over a decade. The Newnan Police Department is revitalizing its investigation into the December 2015 death of 18-year-old Alzuavion LaQuintin Martin, affectionately known to loved ones as "Squirrel". On December 10, 2015, local patrol officers responded to a call in the area of 20 Calhoun Street after a passerby discovered a deceased male in a creek running along the roadside. The victim was quickly identified as Martin, a Newnan resident. Detectives later determined that the teenager died as a direct result of a gunshot wound.
