Historic suffrage car arrives at Georgia Capitol

A striking piece of American history rolled onto the grounds of the Georgia State Capitol on Monday, March 16, 2026. As part of Women’s History Month, the "Driving the Vote for Equality Tour" made its high-profile stop in Atlanta, featuring the Golden Flyer II—a meticulously restored 1914 Saxon roadster. The vintage vehicle is a replica of the original "Golden Flyer" driven by suffragists Alice Snitjer Burke and Nell Richardson during their legendary 10,700-mile cross-country journey in 1916 to demand the right to vote.
