Mother of teen killed in trooper chase files lawsuit

Kate Schoenke's 19-year-old son was killed in Little Five Points in April of 2025 when a fleeing vehicle being chased by Georgia State Patrol struck his vehicle. Schoenke has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the state, who she claims should not have pursued a fleeing vehicle into a busy pedestrian area.
