Thunderbirds arrive in Rome for 'Wings Over North Georgia'

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds have touched down in Rome, Georgia, for the 2026 "Wings Over North Georgia" Air Show. Ahead of the main event on April 3–4, the team named local E.C.O. Center director Ben Winkelman as their "Hometown Hero," giving him a once-in-a-lifetime flight in an F-16. The festivities continue on April 2, as the Thunderbirds join the Rome Emperors at AdventHealth Stadium for their season opener against the Asheville Tourists.
