Fulton County set to vote on $900M hospital for South Fulton
In what is being hailed as a historic step toward ending the "healthcare desert" in South Fulton, the Fulton County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to vote this Wednesday, March 18, 2026, on a resolution to build a new, full-service hospital. The project, a partnership between Fulton County, Grady Health System, and the Fulton-DeKalb Hospital Authority, is the centerpiece of Chairman Robb Pitts' "Project Care Initiative." If approved, the county will contribute $300 million toward the total estimated cost of $900 million.
