Elementary students radio the International Space Station

Students at Walnut Grove Elementary School in Suwanee, Georgia, made history on Thursday, April 2, by speaking directly with an astronaut aboard the International Space Station (ISS). Using amateur radio technology provided by the ARISS program, K–5 students engaged in a 10-minute Q&A session as the station passed over Georgia. This rare educational event was designed to spark interest in STEM and space exploration for the next generation of explorers.
