Dooley relies on Kemp backing to blunt Trump catalyst
Our Tara Jabour was inside Park Bench at The Battery, where political outsider Derek Dooley’s campaign is tracking the first wave of U.S. Senate runoff returns. While rival Congressman Mike Collins leans heavily into a late weekend endorsement from President Donald Trump, Dooley is banking on his own massive political engine: Governor Brian Kemp. The governor has been entirely "all in" on Dooley from the absolute beginning, crisscrossing the state and campaigning shoulder-to-shoulder with the political newcomer for months, culminating in a final "Get Out the Vote" press conference in Chamblee just 24 hours ago.
