Hall County takes over 11 Lake Lanier sites from Army Corps
Hall County is officially taking over day-to-day operations and management of 11 different recreation spots along the shores of Lake Lanier. The transition is part of a newly forged partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers aimed at preventing park closures caused by federal staffing shortages and ensuring the sites remain pristine for visitors. Lake Lanier remains one of the most popular aquatic destinations in the Southeast, drawing between 11 and 12 million visitors each year.
