Golf marathon aims to save lives in West Africa
One local golfer is taking to the greens for a grueling, sleepless weekend marathon, aiming to shatter a world record and save thousands of young lives thousands of miles away. At the Cartersville Country Club, local golfer Mike Woodard is currently in the middle of a historic attempt to break the world record for the longest continuous game of golf. Driven by the Georgia-based non-profit LIVE2540, Woodard is pushing his body to the limit—playing for more than 37 consecutive hours—to raise $150,000 for critical children's healthcare programs in Liberia.
