Buddhist monks continue peace walk through Atlanta
A group of 19 Buddhist monks continuing a cross-country Walk for Peace made their way through Atlanta on December 29, 2025. FOX 5’s Doug Evans met the group as they passed through the city, drawing support from thousands of people who joined them along the route. The monks, who have been documenting their journey on social media, are walking thousands of miles to promote unity, compassion, and nonviolence. One of the monks lost a leg in a horrific accident towards the beginning of the walk but rejoined the walk again on 12/29/25 in Atlanta with the rest of the monks. Supporters gathered to listen, walk alongside them, and show solidarity with their message of peace.
