Trump not in a hurry for Iran deal, Rubio says
Diplomatic efforts to end the conflict in Iran and reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz are moving closer to reality, but United States officials say they are not rushing the process. The update comes directly from U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who stated that while the U.S. is in an excellent position to secure an agreement, President Donald Trump will not force a quick resolution at the risk of making a bad deal. This follows a social media announcement from President Trump this past weekend noting that the peace agreement is already, quote, "largely negotiated" with formal details expected soon. Secretary Rubio is currently in India to re-engage the critical American ally on trade and technology while preparing for high-level international meetings.
