Atlanta trunk-or-treat event promotes Halloween safety
Atlanta’s inaugural Trunk or Treat Safety Celebration got children ready for Halloween while sharing reminders about pedestrian safety. City officials, the Atlanta Department of Transportation, Georgia Power and Atlanta police encouraged families to use sidewalks and crosswalks, look both ways and make sure drivers see them before crossing. Drivers were urged to slow down in residential neighborhoods. The event also highlighted the city’s “Light Up the Night” partnership with Georgia Power, which has installed more than 40,000 energy-efficient LED lights across Atlanta since 2021.
