NASCAR says goodbye after last race on AMS' old surface

NASCAR bid adieu to the Atlanta Motor Speedway surface, last repaved in 1997, after Sunday's Quaker State 400. Drivers are sad to see the worn-out surface go, but they understand why it's necessary. The entire track is getting a face lift now that the last race has been run, as AMS will be increasing the degree of the turn banking, narrowing the racing surface and repaving it this month.
