Bill preventing state employee coverage of gender-affirming care advances

Georgia lawmakers advanced a bill that would prevent public employees from using the state's health benefit plan to pay for gender-affirming care. SB-39 passed in the Georgia Senate in a 33 to 19 vote after a heated discussion from both sides.
