Why Diego Ibarra didn't testify in Laken Riley case

Although Diego Ibarra was brought as a witness by the defense in the murder trial against his brother, Jose Ibarra, he did not end up speaking on the stand Tuesday. One of the defense attorneys told the judge he just found out Diego had a new attorney for a separate immigration case who advised his client not to testify. The state expressed uneasiness in continuing to question him without that lawyer present.
