The Drew Titans accepted the coveted Hand Trophy for their first ever Team of the Week victory on Thursday morning during a live pep rally on Good Day Atlanta.

Drew pulled one of the biggest first round upsets last week, spanking Carver-Columbus 70-34 on the road at Memorial Stadium. That was one of the reasons they garnered 34% of the TOTW vote. The win sets up another road game with Region 5-AAAAA power South Paulding at Timothy Glanton Field in Douglasville this Friday night.

Second year head coach Dorwyn Lyles told FOX 5 Sports that the Clayton County school deserved the Team of the Week honor after upsetting perennial power Carver.

The Titans have never won a state title-for that matter, they've never won a region title in their seven year history. Drew's 8-3 record is the school's best-ever, with their only losses coming to strong opponents Northgate, Starr's Mill and Lowndes.
