Baseball team's Millennial Night faces backlash from millennials

A ballpark promotion to bring more people out to a game ended up offending its target audience.

Montgomery, Alabama's Minor League Baseball team, the Biscuits, cooked up the idea of Millennial Night while thinking of ways to bring young people out to a game.

It offered plenty of millennial cliches – from avocados to selfie stands to a nap section.

Representatives for the team say it was meant as a joke, but some millennials have pushed back on the idea.

"More than targeting millennials, it's sort of targeting older generations who like to make fun of millennials. And like to say that millennials don't like working and don't really like caring for themselves," Alabama millennial Dallas Godshall said.

Representatives say the backlash may end up boosting attendance anyway.

Another team, the Lexington Legends, faced similar criticism for their Millennial Night before reporting increased attendance at the game.
